Privacy Policy
Version 1.2 · Effective 2026-08-31
1. What we collect
Account details. Your name, email address, phone number, city, social handles, and for creators the follower counts that determine your rank. For businesses, the business name and category. Your phone number is used to reach you about a booking or a problem with a claim. It is never shown on your public profile and never given to another user without asking you.
Activity. Deals you post or claim, requests and offers, messages sent through Vecino, and the record of when you accepted our terms, including the version accepted and the time.
Payment details. Handled by our payment processor. We store the last four digits of a card and a processor reference. We never see or store full card numbers.
Technical data. IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, used for security and to understand what to fix.
2. Why we use it
To run the marketplace: showing deals to the right people, matching requests with businesses, processing payments, calculating ranks, preventing fraud, and proving that terms were accepted when a dispute arises. We also use contact details to send transactional messages, such as reminding a creator that a post is due.
3. Who sees what
Businesses see a creator’s public profile, rank, follower band, completed deals, and any messages exchanged. They do not see your email address, phone number, or payment details.
Creators see a business’s public profile and deals. They never see a business’s payment details or spend.
Service providers process data on our behalf: our payment processor, hosting, and email delivery. They are bound by contract to use it only for that purpose.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Text messages
One kind of message, and no other: the code that signs you in, sent when you ask for it on the sign-in page, one each time. Nothing is sent unless you have just asked to sign in.
We do not send marketing text messages. We have no list to add you to and no way to send one. Message and data rates may apply to the sign-in code. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Your number reaches only the messaging carrier that delivers the message, which is what makes delivery possible, and nobody else.
5. Messages inside Vecino
Messages sent between a business and a creator through Vecino are stored so both sides keep a record and so we can investigate disputes and abuse reports. Treat them as you would any business correspondence rather than a private channel.
6. How long we keep it
Account data for as long as your account is open, then up to 12 months after you close it, so an account reopened by mistake can be restored and so we can act on abuse reports that arrive late.
Records tied to money or to a contract are kept longer because the law requires it. Transaction and payout records, invoices, and tax records are kept for 7 years. Records of terms acceptance, including the version accepted and the time, are kept for 7 years after the related claim, since that is the evidence either side would rely on in a dispute. Messages exchanged about a claim are kept for 3 years. Technical logs are kept for 12 months.
Deleting your account removes your profile and stops it being shown to anyone. It does not delete the records above before their period ends, because we are not permitted to destroy them on request.
7. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, export it in a portable format, or delete it. You can also object to particular uses. Email privacy@getvecino.com and we will respond within 45 days, or sooner where the law requires it. We may need to verify who you are first, and we will never treat you worse for asking.
California residents. Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA you have the rights above plus the right to know the categories of personal information we collect and why, and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of and no “Do Not Sell or Share” process to run. If that ever changes we will say so here before it happens and add the opt-out the law requires. You may use an authorized agent to make a request.
If you are in the UK or EEA. Vecino operates from the United States and is aimed at Walnut Creek, California. If you use it from the UK or EEA, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you, for running your account and your deals; our legitimate interests, for security, fraud prevention and improving the product; and our legal obligations, for tax and accounting records. You have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, restrict access to production data, and rely on a PCI-compliant processor so card details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users and regulators as required if a breach occurs.
9. Children
Vecino is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and will delete such an account if we find one.
10. Changes
We will publish a new version number and effective date when this policy changes. Where a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you before it takes effect rather than only updating this page.
11. Contact
